Weather Reduces Number - Still A Success

Thunderstorms and warnings on all sides of Wilkes County resulted in a decreased number
of entries for the fourth cruise-in at Empire Chevrolet, June 12. Those who did brave the
weather found that Empire Chevrolet was spared the rain and winds that others experienced.
In spite of dark clouds, only a few raindrops spattered the area, and the sun came out by
four o’clock.

A total of 86 cars were on hand, and although all GM makes were welcome, the majority were
Chevrolets. Everyone was treated to music, lots of food, and dancers, plus clowns and balloons
for the children. With the assistance of Noel Watson and his staff at Empire, the club raised
money for the Hospices of several counties where club members reside. A final total of money
raised will be announced later.

Welcome to Foothills Corvette Club sponsored by Empire Chevrolet of Wilkesboro, NC. We are a group of Corvette enthusiasts who enjoy getting together for fun and fellowship and spending time in the driver’s seat of the “Great American Sports Car”. We are a non-profit organization holding several fundraisers throughout the year. Each December needy families and various organizations are presented the proceeds raised by the club.

We currently have members from Caldwell, Wilkes, Alexander, Yadkin, Iredell, and Catawba counties. Membership is not limited to these counties. We enjoy club rides on the third Sunday afternoon of each month. Rides are planned by club members and generally conclude with an evening meal. The club also has an annual Christmas Party as well as some overnight trips to various locations.

Quarterly business meetings are held in January, April, July, and October at various locations in surrounding counties. If you’re interested in joining our club please email us for more information or click here for an application. Initial dues are $31 for a single or $37 couple; this includes $6 each for name badges. Renewals are $25 per year.
 

The May trip to Savannah is history now and what a wonderful trip it was. Our hotel and buffet breakfast was awesome. The riverboat dinner cruise and the meal at Paula Deen's was great as well. An extended thank-you is being sent to the Corvette Club by all the friends who accompanied us. Friends, cars, food and fun were enjoyed by all.
