2/27 - Valentine Party
3/20 - Poker Run/Game Night in
Stony Point
4/6 - Quarterly Meeting

Before the ride to Shatley Springs on November 1, the
group met with Jean Davis, executive director of Ebenezer Children’s
Home, and presented the moneys raised at June’s cruise-in.
Empire Chevrolet gave the home $6500 from the raffle for the 2007
Corvette, and Foothills Corvette presented $2000 that it raised from
registration and food concessions.
Mrs. Davis told of plans to construct a new home (hopefully before the
year’s end). If the club wishes, a room can be furnished with the funds
given and a plaque recognizing us will be placed on the wall. We also
can be listed as a major sponsor in future fund raising efforts. A
motion was made to do this, but there was no second and it was not voted
on.
Both Jean and her husband Andy thanked us for all that we have done for
their agency. Andy commented that he has helped several groups with
fundraisers and that we were among the best organized.

Welcome to Foothills Corvette Club sponsored by
Empire
Chevrolet of Wilkesboro, NC. We are a group of Corvette enthusiasts who
enjoy getting together for fun and fellowship and spending time in the
driver’s seat of the “Great American Sports Car”. We are a non-profit
organization holding several fundraisers throughout the year. Each
December needy families and various organizations are presented the
proceeds raised by the club.
We currently have members from Caldwell, Wilkes, Alexander, Yadkin,
Iredell, and Catawba counties. Membership is not limited to these
counties. We enjoy club rides on the third Sunday afternoon of each
month. Rides are planned by club members and generally conclude with an
evening meal. The club also has an annual Christmas Party as well as
some overnight trips to various locations.
Quarterly business meetings are held in January, April, July, and
October at various locations in surrounding counties. If you’re
interested in joining our club please
email us for more information or
click here for an application. Initial dues are $31 for a single or $37
couple; this includes $6 each for name badges. Renewals are $25 per
year.

The Depot
January’s ride took place as scheduled, despite it being
a dark and rainy afternoon. The route was a direct one via
of US 421 and I-77 with no scenic tour. Before the blessing,
Chaplin Ben Hines asked for a moment of silence for all
those in Haiti and what they are going through.
The service was really fast: we had hardly started on the
salads when the entrees came. Treasurer Carol Royal was not
present, so there was no 50/50 drawing. Twyla Price and
Wanda Harrington took orders for both regular sweatshirts
and hooded zippered ones.
